About the "essence" of Domination and the experience there of.
Needless to say it got me thinking and the below are my thoughts on the subject... Comments A/anyone?
"I completely agree that there isn't a single factor that enables someone to be Dominant.
I personally believe some of the factors needed for someone to be a true "healthy" Dom or Domme are:
Control of Oneself; one should never entertain the thought of controlling another until they have absolute understanding and control of themselves, including their weaknesses and their strengths. Our bottoms depend on us, therefore it is not our place to "let loose".
Openness; No matter how long we have studied, trained or practiced our art, there is always room to learn more, the hard part for many is putting the ego aside and allowing themselves to be Life's students again.
Sense of Self; In this world, it is amazingly easy for people to loose sight of who they are at their core. For me, the essence of being a Domina is keeping our core pure and holding true to our beliefs and standards of who and what we are.
Energy; Anyone can learn the technical skills of play, but Energy is the heat that makes scenes unforgettable. It's the rush of goose bumps when a Domina moves her hand just above the skin. It's the force that captivates you when your Domina locks eyes with you.
Brilliance; Some people posses literal and technical book-smart intelligence, others were gifted with the knowledge of how to intuit information while others still have the ability to gracefully weave their way through the chaotic ins and outs of the world...a.k.a. "street smarts". When all of these are combined, nurtured and developed we find ourselves looking at a person working towards brilliance, cherishing the world around them and all the gifts in it.
Domina; it's not "what" I am it's "who" I am and has been for as long as I can remember.
Take care,
