First on Friday night Mistress Marina St. Mark and I threw an AMAZING final evening at RUIN. The fetish room was packed and it will be a night to remember. As to why we decided to not continue our stay at RUIN, quite simply, we LOVE our space at The Academy and if we're going to through fantastic Fetish parties ANYWHERE, we'd much rather throw them in our own space!
That brings us to the second part of our weekend, The Academy's Anniversary party! We heard rave reviews from you about the space, the play, our fantastic baked ziti (among other goodies) and coffee! In fact the reviews were so great that we have decided to go ahead with our plans to make it a MONTHLY EVENT!
How will this work you ask? Well, to fulfill both world's desire for play, we're going to trade off every-other month with one Academy Party being "Lifestyle-only" play and people and the next being "Professional-only” play and people.
How do you know which party is right for you?
- Domina’s looking to “strut their stuff” or bring a client out for a “public” show
= Pro Party
- Ladies looking for a casual night with friends or to play with their sweetie among friends = Lifestyle Party

It's a busy day in LA!
While some of you are out there sweating away in the heat, I'm sitting at my desk quite comfortably fresh out of session in fully regalia without the faintest hint of flush to my cheeks.
It seems some of my faithful students remembered this as a sanctuary from the outside heat and have all decided to come spilling in at once! I must say, seeing so many of you first thing on a Monday is a wonderful way to start my week!
Now for my newest string of updates, first, my May “Feminization” workshop has been pushed back a week on account of Memorial Day weekend.
Second, I want to get your feedback regarding workshops and play parties in the evenings mid-week. Comment back here and let me know your thoughts… would these mid-week gathering work better for you or would they be harder to attend?
Third, The Academy’s First Anniversary Play Party is THIS SATURDAY. If you have not RSVP’d yet please do so now as I won’t be accepting requests to attend much longer. For those of you coming, I look forward to seeing you there!

Good afternoon everyone,
It's another sunny day in LA and I for one am thrilled that summer is just around the corner. I am looking forward to the heat and the myriad of adventures that summer always brings.
In my world of updates this week I had a great time at The Blasphemy Ball last Sunday and our "auction" to see which lucky bottom would be taking Dj Xian's birthday spankings from me raised $208 to be divided between Children's Hospital and RAWW both non-profits very worthy of support.
Our lucky bottom was a very sweet young lady who had never been to one of our club nights before and I’m a quite certain that when her friends invited her out for the evening she never envisioned her evening would be quite so eventful! (I am told that pictures will indeed be coming soon)
If you missed our birthday fun for Dj Xian on Sunday you can still come wish Me a happy THIS Friday night at Club RUIN. No Auction required, all bottoms feeling adventurous enough to take my birthday spankings are more than welcome!
Lastly, don't forget, The Academy's 1 yr Anniversary Party is coming up in two weeks! If you haven't gotten your RSVP's in do so now as it is a closed guest list. Anyone who is not on that list will not be making it in the door!

Why the new blog?
Well first and foremost, now all my lovely readers can leave comments sharing their thoughts and insights about things I'm saying and places I'm going.
I enjoy interacting with people in my world and this is just another great way to do that.
As you probably noticed, if you scrolled down at all, all of my posts from my previous blog have been lumped into one BIG post here so if you are looking from anything previous to today that is where you're going to find it.
One exception of course is all the images that I had posted along with my entries. Don't worry though, this new blog most certainly allows images; it just wasn't overly thrilled with my doing a bulk copy & paste from one page to another and decided to spit out all the images being taken along for the ride.
As a way to recover those I plan to start a “pic of the day” project to upload a new image from my old blog into this blog each day until all of my old images are back because I know that many of you enjoyed seeing my event flyers and pictures.
Speaking of pictures, my sister website www.MistressShae.com is BACK! I know many of you have been very patiently waiting its return with all its fantastic new images! I will caution you however that www.MistressShae.com is completely dedicated to modeling.
So those of you who are hoping for a Domina angle to the pictures you see of me, you are already in the right place. If, instead you are looking to understand the woman who is your Domina more thoroughly as a whole and appreciate her many different sides, I invite you to enjoy.
On a completely different note, our RAWW workshop and party was FANTASTIC! Amazing women with adventuresome minds and spirits. Truly, I would not have hoped for a better day.

Back from Seattle; back from San Francisco; back from Denver! Whoo! Three trips in four weeks... Wow. I had an absolutely amazing time, had a beyond-outstanding travel companion, but my goodness, this little Domina is ready to be home for a bit. Stepping out of that airport into a beautiful 84-degree day and feeling the arid lightness in the air was an incredible homecoming. Oh yes, Los Angeles, I AM HOME! :D
So, now what? First, off, wish me a happy birthday. That's right. I managed to get home from all my travels JUST in time to celebrate my birthday here in the city. How am I going to spend my birthday? Who knows! The day has yet to unfold... What I want to know is how many of you will be coming over my lap before the week is out to take my birthday spankings.
In other big news, our first RAWW workshop and play party is THIS Saturday! This is a female-identified event ONLY so women, if you are interested in attending and need any information, please contact me directly.
Additionally, The Academy's First Anniversary mix-gender play party is Saturday, the 25th of April! It's looking to be a big one so please make sure to RSVP as this will be an invite list ONLY event. AKA if your name is not on my list you will not make it through the door.
Oh! One more bit of big news! This weekend you get a special double-dose of the Ladies of The Academy! Not only will Ms. Marina be running RUIN this Friday night, but then on Sunday night, Mistress Shae will be out at The Monte Cristo's Blasphemy Ball to celebrate The Academy taking over sponsorship of RUIN's Fetish Room from Broken Door! This will be a night you won't want to miss!

Whoo! BIG changes to The Academy website!
First and foremost the Workshop Schedule for April through June is NOW posted along with the Visiting Instructor Bios! In case that wasn't enough, I've also kept my fingers busy creating a new "Head Mistress Contact" page and a "Tokens of Gratitude ~Thank You's~" page.
Many of you are familiar with my constant quest for perfection so if any links appear to be broken or if anything seems amiss, do let me let me know so that it can be corrected.

I was recently asked by a person entering into the scene what advice I could offer them to aid in this newest journey in their life. The below is the response I provided. I hope that perhaps it may resonate truth for some of you or perhaps offer a shred of insight to help you on your own path...

"1. Everyone has their own kinks and fetishes. No matter how different they may be from yours, don't judge; we're all equal here.
2. Don't mistake bravado for wisdom. While we all have different roles
we play and protocols we follow, every one of us had to take that first
step that you're taking now.
3. Seek knowledge and skills constantly. Whether as a Top or a bottom,
always try to learn as much as you can. A great Top should always try
to broaden their skill sets while a bottom should research proper
techniques to keep themselves safe. Other great skills for bottoms to
have are massage, service-skills, butler training, cooking, pedicure,
etc. Find ways in which to show your Top how much you appreciate the
time and energy they have given you.
4. Lastly, no matter how good, how bad or how average an experience is
(whether in play or vanilla life) strive to always find a kernel of

Greetings everyone,
This has been quite a busy bit of time hasn't it? I spent this last week working with the R.A.W.W. women deciding directions we want to go and working on their new message board and website. I've been chatting back and forth with different educators and presenters to put together the new workshop calendar for 2009 for The Academy and I've been having beautiful women visiting from San Francisco!
I adore my life! To give all of you an update, the good news is, if you are female, we have the 2009 R.A.W.W. Workshop and Playparty schedule finalized! If you identify as anything other than female, your workshop schedule will hopefully be up in the next couple weeks!
There will be a wide variety of classes for all interests and experience levels followed by play parties to help you hone the skills you have just learned and find ways to mix them into your your current play styles.

First, I would like to welcome to The Academy Ms. Karin Sin! From March 7th - 10th the stunning Ms. Karin Sin will be visiting us from The Gates in San Francisco. Second, the March "Special" will be posted up THIS weekend! Call it a hunch, but I'm quite certain many of you are going to get a kick out of it.
Third, we're finalizing the new Workshop and Play-Party calendar now. Updates will be posted soon so for those of you looking for events to play at or new skills to learn, get ready to bookmark this page. Again, keep those suggestions for workshops you would like to see coming in. We're getting some great ideas so far and I'm getting them setup for you. No request it too far out there, but you need to ask for it in order to be heard.
For those of you who haven't taken time recently to view my event and travel page, take a moment to do so now. I will be out of town 10 days in March and 8 days in April. If you live in one of the cities I'm traveling to this is a great opportunity to see me, if not, save yourself some frustration and know when I will be away.

Good morning everyone,
It's a lovely day in Los Angeles and I have delightful news. Some of you may have noticed, I just made a large change to my scheduling availability. As of TODAY I will no longer be available for Saturday sessions. Going forward, Saturdays and Sundays will be reserved for Academy Workshops and special 1x1 and small group coaching sessions.
"The Academy" was given it's name for many reasons; furthering BDSM knowledge, resources within the community overall has always been very dear to me and one I so my best to support. If there are workshops or classes you are interested in participating in, please contact me via email or myspace. Also, please specify whether you are interested in attending a 1x1 or small group workshop so I know whether to compile group workshops for your area of interest or not.
Over the next few weeks, The Academy website will be posting up a Workshop Calendar with dates and times of classes as well as special upcoming workshops and visiting instructors. Look back often for updates!

Good afternoon everyone,
Valentines and The Black Heart's Masque weekend was spectacular! More and more images are being posted and RUIN has become one of the hottest nights in town. If you have yet to make it out, you are truly missing a fantastic evening. I will be working on posting up a RUIN gallery in the near future so keep your eyes open.
In other news, not only have new dates have been posted for my my 2009 travel schedule, but during the first week of March the lovely Mistress Karin Sin from San Francisco will be a visiting Mistress at The Academy for a brief period of time. Check back soon to see her bio and wickedly hot images.

She writes that she "will miss the Academy, the faculty, and its students, dearly." and regrets "that her new schedule will not permit her to continue her adventures in debauchery with her students."

Greetings my delightful students,
Many changes have been going on at The Academy! Not only do we have two wonderful new pieces of equipment to play with, we also have a fantastic new "Teachers desk" for schoolhouse scenes.
Your Head Mistress has been quite busy with changes as well. Not only is she the new Alpha Domme at Club Ruin each Friday night, she has also been answering interviews for Toxic Treat, shooting with the incredible Chad Michael Ward become the feature character in a new graphic novel and been invited to do the Catalog for Fierce Couture Latex.

If you've been good students and following my instructions to keep an eye on The Academy site this past week you already know that we have two new faculty members available for co-instructional sessions.
Being the inquisitive students you are, you may be wondering not only who these lovely ladies but also what unique abilities they that helped each of them make it through my strict Faculty Screening Process.
As you can quickly surmise by Mistress Marina St. Mark's bio, she is without question stunningly beautiful. Those who know me however know that a pretty face is nowhere near enough of a resume to gain you access at this Academy. Along with her gorgeous looks, Ms. Marina brings deadly accurate abilities in all corporal tools and razor sharp wit. I welcome her with open arms and will take great joy in watching those up for the challenge attempt to keep up with her.
